After arriving in Iceland's Reykjavik and staying the night at a hotel in the city centre, you'll be ready to wake up in the morning and begin your Arctic expedition!
As you board the deluxe expedition vessel M/V Sea Spirit and get settled in your spacious suite, you'll set off on your 11-night adventure to Greenland, crossing the Arctic Circle before circling back to Iceland. Your view will be filled with spectacular coasts and islands as you keep a continuous lookout for great whales, polar bears and other marine mammals as you sail through Scoresby Sund.
Of course, the view everyone is after is the one that comes after nightfall; the spectacular and elusive aurora borealis. We are lucky enough to welcome aboard Aurora Specialist Melanie Windridge, PhD - who has literally written the book on the Northern Lights - titled, "Aurora: In Search of The Northern Lights."
As with any polar expedition, your exact schedule and route will be shaped by weather and ice, and your experienced captain continually adjusts plans to take advantage of any sightseeing opportunities presented.
